TERMS & CONDITIONS

Therapy Terms and Conditions for Psychological Therapy

Fees

Psychological therapy sessions (50 minutes approximately):                      £120

Payment of Fees

Payment is paid at least 48 hours in advance by bank transfer, unless you hold Private Medical Insurance (see below). AC 01485904 SC 60-83-71 Kirstie Wright

Private Medical Insurance

If you hold Private Medical Insurance (PMI), please check the reimbursement level that will be available to you from your relevant provider for the therapy.  If your PMI reimbursement does not cover the fee in full, you must pay the difference between the fee and the PMI reimbursement.

If you have not already done so, please inform us of your PMI's Authorisation Code and of the limits to the funding available.

PMI invoices are raised monthly in arrears.  Payment is due 14 days from the date of the invoice. Please promptly forward the invoice to your PMI provider for them to process payment.

Cancellation policy

If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible. 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellation. Where there is less notice, or you fail to attend your appointment, the fee for that session will be incurred.

The therapist will endeavour to give you as much advance notice as possible in terms of holidays or of any need to cancel a future appointment.

Contact Arrangements

Contact between sessions (by therapist or client) is to be kept to booking or re-arranging appointments. More detailed concerns should be brought to therapy appointments.

Supervision

Therapists are required to have regular supervision sessions where they discuss aspects of their clinical work to ensure good practice. They do not reveal individual identities during these sessions and supervision itself is confidential. We offer to record sessions to review in supervision to ensure high standards of therapy. You do not have to consent and can withdraw consent at any time.

Confidentiality

All information discussed within treatment is confidential: exceptions are in cases of significant concerns about your safety or that of others i.e. where there is risk to harm to self or of being harmed. In these cases, it may be useful to share information and gain support from third parties e.g. GP. In the case of a disclosure concerning acts of terrorism, vulnerable adult or child protection issues or drug trafficking, confidentiality will be breached, and such disclosures will be passed onto the relevant authority without delay. Due consideration should be exercised before disclosing anything of a previously unreported criminal nature, as I am obligated to contact relevant authorities. In the event of the therapist becoming incapacitated they have a clinical will in place which will involve another professional making contact with you.

We routinely update your GP in order to provide continuity of care. If you do not consent to this please let your therapist thought. However, if we have any concerns about your safety or the safety of someone else we would have to inform your GP so we can get you more support.

Emergencies and Crisis

The therapy and support offered by Creatives in Mind is not suited to dealing with emergencies. If you find that you’re unable to cope between appointments, or are experiencing a crisis or emergency, please contact your GP (out-of-hours dial 111), attend your local A&E department, or dial 999.

Record keeping

Notes may be taken during and after each session, which will be kept in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1998) and with GDPR.  All recorded information will be securely stored. Please see Privacy Policy for further details.

Therapy sessions and cancellations
Therapy sessions typically take place on a weekly basis. Sessions will take place online. It will not be possible to extend the length of your session if you arrive late. If agreed payments for therapy are not being paid, then we reserve the right to terminate therapy.

Subject to me being satisfied in the first sessions that your problem is one that can be alleviated by CBT, we usually offer you a trial period of 6 sessions.  At the end of this time, we will review our work and decide whether to continue and how many more sessions are needed. Please note that CBT is a time limited therapy. I work towards the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence guidelines in terms of number of sessions, this varies depending on what difficulty you are experiencing. In the normal course of events you will probably know when you are ready to finish CBT, and we will agree together on when sessions will end, on the work we need to do to prepare for this and when this will be. Therapy can take time and work to see changes. I cannot guarantee that sessions will result in improvement, but I will do my best to provide effective treatment and help you achieve your goals.

If you wish to end sessions, please contact me so we can do a plan for how to continue to build on what we have done in session after the sessions have finished. You may terminate therapy without further cost at any time you wish.

Please note any threats or acts of violence will invalidate this agreement and CBT will cease. Sessions will not take place if you arrive under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed medication.

If you have any concerns about the care you have received please do not hesitate to contact us via phone or email. You can also contact our accrediting body the BABCP on complaints@babcp.com.
